Brief Biographical Sketch:
Hi! I am a Stanford undergrad, majoring in Economics and minoring in Computer Science. I have always been interested in the natural, physical, and social sciences; I have conducted research in astrophysics and materials science (specifically graphene), and I am an incessant follower of current events. Everyone deserves a more interesting and enjoyable life--I plan to use policy-making and computer science as impact multipliers in international relations, international development, education, and security. Past Classes(Look at the class archive for more.)Current Events Forum: American Politics in Splash! Spring 2012
Tired of the sensationalism and partisanship? Want to have a frank discussion of American politics with other interesting students?
In this class, students will make a list of relevant current events at the beginning, then the rest of the class will be a fast-paced discussion. Participation is required, and you must avoid generalizations and bring with you an open mind.
I will simply act as the moderator. Meanwhile, I will also serve as the class's personal fact-checking monkey--I will be looking up anything you request to supplement the discussion. It is difficult to find an open, courteous forum for politics, so take advantage of this opportunity.
