Brief Biographical Sketch:
Early life - New York City Have worked in the steel industry for nearly 4 decades Involved in a number of industry training programs. The class will deliver a non-technical narrative of the design and construction of this emerging engineering marvel. We will use multi-media presentations to cover the theoretical aspects. The goal of the class is to enable you to share with your own people an accurate understanding of why and how this bridge is being built.
Green Construction Projects in Splash! Fall 2011
An explanation of the current roles of environmental design and sustainability in ongoing projects. Among the projects highlighted will be the Hetch Hetchy Watger System Improvement Project and California High Speed Rail.
While the class will cover engineering aspects, it is principally in presentations clear to all present.

An introduction to professional construction management, intended for people with a possible future in this field.

An overview of current California Green Construction and an explanation of the role of the Construction Manager in this process

An outline of the current and impending status of the SF Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge Phase 3B, and the Hetch Hetchy underwater pipeline. Includes theory of structure, mobilizing resources and capital, public relations, and general challenges --hopefully this will occur in a classroom with power point display available
Major Projects ~ Tools for Leadership in Splash! Spring 2010
An outline of Project Management skills, to make students aware of exciting opportunities leading major and custom building and engineering projects.
The model project will be the major solar projects in Mojave and in San Francisco's Sunset District.
Peninsula Public Works ~ Updates and Opportunities in Splash! Spring 2010
Several historic public projects are ongoing on the Peninsula, learn about:
1) the Devil's Slide Bridge and Tunnel
2) the modernization of the Hetch Hetchy Water System
3) California High Speed Rail and its impacts on Peninsula communities
This class will give you an introductory overview and hopefully challenge you to learn more
How to Build Steel Structures, Bridges, Skyscrapers in Splash! Fall 2009
How major steel structures are conceived, designed, fabricated and built. The class will discuss both ancient, traditional, and modern digital means of designing structures, the methods of procurement and fabrication of materials, the mobilizations and equipment used, and of course, the incredible people who actually do the work,
actual examples of well known structures will be used as learning models, .such as the Transamerica Pyramid structure
