Brief Biographical Sketch:
I grew plants with my grandmother when I was small, and as I grew, I took it up as my own hobby. The hot sun and rocky soil of Oklahoma where I learned to garden was a battlefield unforgiving to mistakes. I look forward to incorporating advanced methods into my family's garden for increased crop yields, decreased grow times, and decreased material input. The focus of this class is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the pathology of the influenza infection. The class will begin with a history of the flu and the basic biology of the virus and its infectious agents. The other half of the class will transition to the secondary infections of the flu which complicate the affected individual's condition and cause of terminal illness and mortality.
America: From Land and Sea in Splash! Fall 2011
We will discover America from the great painting genres of American Landscape and American Maritime art.
High-Efficiency Gardening in Splash! Spring 2011
A conceptual discussion of hydroponics, aeroponics, and other controlled-environment methods of gardening. Benefits and problem areas of the concepts will be discussed.
Physical solutions to the application of these methods will be suggested. Students will be able to discuss and propose their own solutions or thoughts on the matter.
