ESP Biography

Brief Biographical Sketch:

Sonny became interested in the dance as an Undergraduate at UCLA where he was the main hip hop choreographer of the LA dance collective. He trained and studied under Tre Hopson in Choreography. His interests in the studio diverged into street dance where he began training at HomeLand--The Center of WestCoast Poppin and Lockin and Culture Shock. His interest in the technical art of Freestyle Poppin has led him to session with legends like Poppin Pete, suga Pop and even Poppin Taco (who choreographed and worked closely with Michael Jackson in the 70s). He considers himself to be a student of Jsmooth (Winner of UK Championship 2006 and Juste Debout 2007), KidBoogie and Pharside, three of the best poppers in the world and members of Machine Gone Funk crew and Soul Sector, for their tremendous personal influence on his dance.
