Brief Biographical Sketch:
I did my undergraduate in McGill, Canada and moved to Stanford for a Masters/PhD. I finished the Masters and started the PhD but quit after getting hired at a fun aeronautics start-up. I have a big passion for all things airborne, and very much look forward to share that with people. I also happen to be an avid scuba diver. Past Classes(Look at the class archive for more.)Balancing a broomstick in Splash! Spring 2012
In this course we will try to understand why it's easier to balance a broomstick instead of a pencil.
We will then show a simple simulation which introduces the concept of feedback controls and try to come up with intuitive explanation to concepts of stability, bandwidth and damping
Flying Robots (aka Unmanned Air Vehicles) in Splash! Fall 2011
In this session, we'll literally pick through the brains of a small unmanned air vehicle (UAV) in order to understand what sensors, actuators and algorithms allow these modern day robots to fly.
We will also showcase (hardware and videos) UAVs that have been used for various research projects at Stanford.
