Brief Biographical Sketch:

Born and raised in China, went to high school in Singapore and attended college at Duke. I consider myself extremely lucky for having experienced cultures in many countries, met great people from all over the world, and tasted some awesome local cuisines! Yet there are so much more to explore, and traveling the world is certainly on top of my bucket list.

I'm in cancer biology program at Stanford, yet my research focuses more on the interaction between RNAs and other macromolecules. Ironically, I've never quite been a biology person before I went to college. Back then I enjoyed the elegant simplicity of Physics, and had always thought of Biology as a rather dull branch of natural sciences that focuses on observations rather than experimentation. But a few biological classes I took in college really blew my mind, and introduced me to the wide repertoire of cutting edge experimental techniques used in molecular biology. Biology has indeed evolved to the stage where complicated phenotypes can be studied by elegant experimental design and models of biological phenomenon can be deduced that has far-reaching implications and predictive powers. The process to break down complex problems to tractable experiments is the beauty of biological research.

So that's me, come talk to me about my research and travels!
