M5201: Mathematics of Symmetry in Splash Fall 2016 (Dec. 03 - 04, 2016)
What do you imagine when you hear symmetry? Do you think of your body, and how the left side and right side are mirrors of one another? Symmetry is a very important concept in mathematics, science, and engineering. Mathematical equations and physical problems often have symmetries, and exploiting these can lead to otherwise unreachable solutions to problems or greater insight into the processes which govern our universe.
