ESP Biography

Do you like foreign languages? Interested in learning one, but don't know how to pick? Are you curious why other languages sound the way they do? Want to know where other languages come from? In this class, we'll learn about the basics of the field of linguistics by discussing languages from all over the world and the things that make them different. We'll learn what makes a language "hard" to learn for native English speakers, how languages come to change, and how we've come to have the different languages in the different parts of the world that we do today.

Sometimes emergencies happen, and it's best to be prepared. In this hands-on class, we will learn the basics of first aid for emergencies: how to analyze a situation, and how to provide care in crises, from the Heimlich to CPR.
