R5215: SHARKS: Friends, not food in Splash Fall 2016 (Dec. 03 - 04, 2016)
Come and learn about how sharks are probably the most misunderstood creatures in the sea. Through informative videos, slideshows, lively discussion and an interactive shark anatomy model, we will talk about how sharks are perfectly adapted to their aquatic environment, how shark attacks are much less common than you think and how shark fin soup is decimating their populations world-wide. All you need to bring is an open-mind about sharks and a desire to learn about these massive(ly awesome) creatures. Additionally, we will discuss what you can do to ensure the survival of sharks on Earth. Hopefully, you will walk away from this class with a much more positive idea of sharks!
