E2801: Earth's Natural Roller Coasters - Practical Experiments in Earthquake Engineering in Splash! Spring 2013 (Apr. 13 - 14, 2013)
Earthquakes can be a fun, but also a very scary ride. Come learn about earthquake mechanisms and design of structures in earthquake prone areas (like California) and experience shaking first hand! The class will cover the basic physics behind structural earthquake engineering design; the focus will be on explaining concepts through experiments.
