Brief Biographical Sketch:

My name is Paul Bump and I am a current graduate student in the Biology Department of Stanford University working with the Lowe Lab at the Hopkins Marine Station.

I became fascinated with ocean at a young age and deeply captivated by the natural world. I am curious now like I was then, motivated by studying unusual phenomena, observing and asking fundamental questions. My undergraduate training in marine biology was done at the University of Hawaii with Manoa and then I spent two years working at the Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at the University of Southern California. My PhD research aims to merge these two interests, exploring the molecular underpinnings of regeneration in lower deuterostomes.
