Brief Biographical Sketch:

Before working at Stanford, Alex Quan was a teacher in public and charter schools in San Francisco and Oakland where he has taught math, history and Mandarin immersion at the secondary level. In addition, he has served as a program leader to facilitate experiential education trips for study abroad and international school programs across China. After graduating from the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University, he started out in education through Teach for America. He has also worked in Shanghai and Shenzhen and is fluent in Mandarin and proficient in Cantonese.

S7092: Business Chinese and Chinese Business in Splash Spring 2019 (May. 04 - 05, 2019)
You will learn business communication in Chinese and business manners in China. First part of the class teaches basic business words in Chinese. Second part teaches communication in business environment and business manners in China. The goal of this course is to help you learn some useful Chinese words related to business, which will help you communicate with Chinese businessmen in international settings. The course will be a good opportunity to learn professional Chinese and how to do business in China.
