Brief Biographical Sketch:
I am currently at Postdoc at Stanford School of Medicine in the Infectious Disease department. Our lab studies the parasite responsible for amoebic dysentery in hopes of gaining understanding of how these parasites infect people and to identify drugs to stop this disease. I recently finished my PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular biology at Clemson University in South Carolina where I worked on the parasite responsible for sleeping sickness in sub-Saharan Africa. As you can probably tell, I am very fascinated with parasites and how they successfully infect their host and evade its immune system. Outside of the lab I love hiking, running, playing volleyball, and teaching. I can't wait to share some really cool things with you about some creepy parasites!
