S7011: Linguistics: How Language Works in Splash Spring 2019 (May. 04 - 05, 2019)
We use language every day, but what really is "language"? Linguistics is the formal and scientific study of human language. In this class, we will explore the fundamentals of linguistics, including phonetics, semantics, syntax, and morphology, and its connections to other fields such as mathematics, formal logic, and computer science. Students will walk away having gained a basic understanding and appreciation for the beautiful intricacies of human language.

M7015: Python Fundamentals in Splash Spring 2019 (May. 04 - 05, 2019)
Want to become a software engineer? Data scientist? Machine learning expert? All these professions use Python, the world's fastest growing programming language, every single day! In this workshop-style class, students will learn fundamental programming concepts such as loops, I/O, and conditionals in Python and apply them to solving real-world problems. Students will walk away with the skills needed to start programming on their own and exploring further interests in computer science.
